The Hardin County Historical Museum will hold the first ever Kenton Toys Collectors Cast Iron Toy Show February 16, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Hardin County Historical Museum, 223 N. Main St., Kenton, according to Linda L. Iams, Director.
Featured will be the Museum’s collection of Kenton Toys. You can buy, sell, or trade, or just browse the tables. Kenton Toy Collector club members will be on site to appraise toys.
Free Admission. A limited number of vendor tables are available at $25.00 (one table per vendor, only).
BFR Sports and Fitness has announced open registration for the following youth and adult activities:
Indoor Soccer
BFR Sports & Fitness is currently accepting registration for Session 3 of the indoor soccer league.
This session begins the week of January 6 and runs for 5 weeks plus a tournament. There are divisions for U8 players all the way through adults. Cost for this league is $440 per team. Deadline for registration is January 28 and all are reminded that divisions may fill early.
The Winter BFR sport and fitness session of youth and adult programs is beginning the week of Jan.7, according to Carole Enneking, BFR director.
Youth Programs
▪ basketball - grades K-3 on Thursdays, 3:30pm
▪ football - grades K-3 on Tuesdays, 3:30pm
▪ dodgeball - grades K-8 on Fridays, 3:30pm
▪ volleyball - grades 3-7 on Wednesdays, 3:30pm
▪ swim lessons - infants to grade 4 on Thursday evenings at The Comfort Inn.
These classes meet weekly for seven weeks.
The Shannon Theatre gave the Icon the heads up on the movies it has scheduled for Jan. 11 - 17. According to Pete Suter, here's what's playing:
Parental Guidance (PG) - stars Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei. Artie and Diane agree to look after their three grandkids when their type-A helicopter parents need to leave town for work. Jesse Henry, former Bluffton resident, will perform in concert at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13, in the Town Hall Concert Series. Henry will perform with Angela Perley. The concert is billed as a homecoming concert of acoustic original music, raising money and collecting instruments to teach music in Nairobi, Kenya.
Evelyn Luginbuhl will receive a lifetime membership to the Bluffton Senior Center in honor of her 90th birthday.
A potluck will take place during the January dinner meeting on Monday, Jan. 14, at noon at the Senior Center and Evelyn will recieve a red rose and her lifetime membership.
Bill Peebles will MC the event with Ruth Bartels hosting. The program for the evening is entitled "It's cold and dark so lets look at photos of Hawaii."
