Youth for Christ is offering a meal deal on Friday, Dec. 14 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at BHS.   Come for a meal and stay for the BHS basketball game.

The menu will include 

  • Hot Dog or Barbeque Pork Sandwich
  • Chips
  • Soup
  • Cookie
  • Drink

The suggested donation for this event is $6 with all proceeds going to YFC.  

“Join us for an afternoon of Shopping and Fun at 220 N. Main St. Ada, on Friday, Dec. 14,” says Darcey Schneider of Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre.

The event will have seven vendors:

The first 25 shoppers will receive a raffle ticket to be entered in the door buster drawing of our gift-pack valued at over $100.

Student members of the Bluffton High School Renaissance Club and boys and girls basketball players are selling raffle tickets for a luxury suite to the Ohio State University men’s and women’s basketball games, according to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.

The raffle tickets, donated by Monsanto, will include 12 luxury suite tickets for both the men’s and women’s basketball games, and three parking passes next to the Schottenstein Center.

Descendants of Peter Hilty (1821-1892) and Elizabeth Neuenschwander Hilty (1818-1894), and other persons interested in Swiss family history, are invited to view several family documents and furniture this month.

Bob Hilty, 7790 Rockport Road, Bluffton, has several family heirloom items on display from Dec. 8 to Dec. 29 in his home.

"The Bluffton Senior Center is starting a new tradition," Tonya Meyer, director, told the Icon.

With the help from Signature Health Services, the Senior Center hosts it's first ever Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. until noon. 

"The idea of a cookie walk is to have a wide variety of cookies available to purchase.  The buyer can walk in with a little money and walk out with 12 different cookies or six of one kind, two of another and four of another." said Meyer. 

Two downtown businesses have special events for youth on Saturday and Bluffton University will hold "Community Day" during its two basketball double headers. Here are the details:

Greg’s Pharmacy
Greg's Pharmacy is hosting Kid's Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. according to Greg Conkling, owner. Children of all ages are invited to come and meet Santa and will receive a free 4x6-inch print with Santa.   Greg's Pharmacy is located at 126 N. Main St.
