The Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St., is having a half-price plant sale, now until the end of October.
"All plants are half off the marked price. It is a great time to get a nice house plant to clean the air in your house this winter," said Tonya Meyer of the Center.
On The first and third Thursdays of the month, the Senior Center is open until 7 p.m. because of community meals.
The second annual art auction and dinner to benefit the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main. Proceeds support the BCE mission of annually creating and retaining 30 local jobs. This is a major fundraiser for the BCE and raised $7,000 in 2009.
Tickets are still available for the next performance in the 2010-11 Bluffton University Artist Series, by Percussion Group Cincinnati at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in Yoder Recital Hall.
The three-member group has awakened concert audiences to a wider world of music since 1979, using everything from amplified cactus needles, newspapers and garbage cans to the traditional sounds of drums, cymbals and bells from around the world.
A combined Bluffton High School and Bluffton University homecoming parade set for 6 p.m. tonight creates perhaps the largest small town parade of its type in northwestern Ohio.
Both Bluffton University and Bluffton High School will celebrate its 2010 homecoming on Friday and Saturday. Bluffton University's king and queen will be announced on Saturday afternoon.
Members of the homecoming court have been selected by BHS students. The 2010 king and queen will be announced in a pre-game ceremony Friday on Harmon Field. Members of the court follow:

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
There are several benefits belonging to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. Getting an "almost free lunch," is one of them.
The chamber, in cooperation with Common Grounds, will hold its first "almost free lunch," at Common Grounds from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4.
According to Phil Zimmerly of Common Grounds, lunch for chamber members includes a chicken wrap and chips for $2. In addition, the chamber is picking up the tab for all chamber members drinks.
The lunch is also available to non-chamber members at $4.59 (drinks not included.)
