Apollo Board meets on April 27; action includes hiring part-time instructors and approving scholarships

The Apollo Career Center Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. at 3325 Shawnee Rd. Lima, with the agenda attached to this article.

Items on the agenda include hiring some 75 part-time instructors and approving some 25 scholarships.

Bluffton is represented on the board by Mr. Brad Fruchey, pictured with representatives from the school districts served by Apollo High School programs.

Agenda for April 25 School Board meeting

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools Board of Education will hold a Regular Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on April 25, 2022 in the elementary school media center, 102 S. Jackson St.

The school board will review and vote whether to approve minutes and reports from the March 21 regular meeting, invite visitors to address the board, review and vote to approve treasurer’s transactions (including appropriations modifications) and hear reports from administrators.

The Spring 2022 newsletter from the Bluffton Exempted Villages School District has been mailed to residents of Bluffton.

It includes articles by Superintendent Greg Denecker, Elementary Principal Bejamin Thiel, Middle School Principal Joshua Kauffman, High School Principal Mike Minnig, Athletic Director Alex Hanna and the music department. The articles include updates on staff and students.

Special council meeting to be held on April 18

The Village of Bluffton has announced a Special Village Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at the Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear a presentation from the Bluffton Police Department on plans concerning a memorial to Officer Dominic Francis and funds raised.

Summary of April 11 Village council meeting

The April 11 Regular Meeting of the Bluffton council began with a moment of silence for Officer Dominic Francis, as requested by council member Jerry Cupples. Mayor Johnson led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance before beginning action with approval of the minutes of the prior meeting.

A Public Hearing before the Bluffton Village Council has been scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Monday, May 9 on the third floor of the Town Hall at 154 N. Main St., Bluffton, OH.

This hearing will involve the following recommendation from the Village of Bluffton Planning Commission:

- Conditional approval of the Construction Drawings for the Chestnut Lane Subdivision.
