Four council committee meetings set

Bluffton council members set four council committee meetings in June and July. The schedule follows:

• Thursday, June 28 - Personnel, town hall, noon
• Thursday, July 5, - Bluffton pathway, noon, town hall
• Monday, July 9 - Council as a whole, meeting with police department, 6:30 p.m
• Monday, July 23 - Personnel and finance, to discuss possible K-9 fundraiser, 6:30 p.m.

Insurance update on Monday's council agenda

Bluffton airport terminal and hangar now included in coverage

Bluffton council will hear an update from its insurance committee on Monday.

A recent audit and appraisal shows the value of village buildings and content increased by $3,728,296. And, inland marine increased by $866,014.

The village insurance premium will go from $51,261 to $58,174, according to information revealed at a June 14 insurance committee meeting.

“Basically we are getting an additional $4.5 million in coverage for $7,000,” Jerry Cupples, insurance committee chair wrote in a report in Monday’s council packet.

Council street and alleys committee meets Monday

Bluffton council's streets, alleys, lights and sidewalks committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 25, according to Laura Ewing, village fiscal officer. The meeting is in the third floor of the town hall.

School board June meeting moved to next Wednesday

Bluffton school board has rescheduled its June meeting according to Paula Parish, school treasurer.

The June will will take place at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, in the elementary media center. It was originially scheduled for June 25.

Council personnel committee meets Monday

Bluffton council's personnel committee will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, June 25, in the third floor of the town hall, according to Laura Ewing, village fiscal officer.

Town hall due for exterior masonry update

Sidewalk connectivity projects begin week of June 18

Bluffton council will hear updates from the village administrator on several projects underway this month during the Monday council session.

According to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, E. Lee Construction will perform exterior masonry maintenance to the town hall. The work includes cleaning the building, tuck-pointing, brick replacement, stone repair, sealants and caulk joint replacement, window cleaning and adding one coat of water repellent to the building.
