Tonight's a good night to take a meteor shower

Care to take a night time shower? Tonight and Friday night are your best nights this summer.

The perseid meteor shower, a night time sky show is the featured movie of the skies.The Perseids will rise gradually to their August 13 peak. Between now and August 13, the meteors will be flying.

Chamber invites community to consider sponsoring a snowflake

The largest snowflake ever to land in Bluffton may be viewed as it hangs from a light pole on Main Street in front of Common Grounds and The Food Store. We recommend viewing it after dark.

Despite being August, the snowflake will remain there for a few weeks. The snowflake is part of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce's new holiday lighting plan for Main Street. (see story below)

It's Christmas in August in downtown Bluffton. Really.

Check out the 4-foot-tall lighted snowflake hanging from the light pole in front of Common Grounds and The Food Store at the Main-Cherry intersection. Also check out the 12-foot holiday garland wrapped around the pole.

What's this all about? Has Bluffton lost track of what month it is? The answer is "No."

St. John Mennonite annexation gets Pandora council approval

On July 26 Pandora village council passed the third reading of a resolution allowing annexation of the St. John Mennonite Church property into the village.

The Pandora Village Council met in Regular Session on Tuesday,
July 26, 2011, at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building with President of Council, Rick Fricke, presiding in the absence of Mayor, John Schlumbohm.

FluentPoint newest affiliate of Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs welcomes Jeff Compton, founder of Ottawa-based FluentPoint, as its new non-resident affiliate. Compton's company improves workplace learning through instructional design, course production and training distribution services, primarily e-learning courses.

FluentPoint also helps businesses enhance their PowerPoint presentations and marketing materials.

Pandora celebrates two-day Riley Creek Festival Aug. 12-13

Pandora's Riley Creek Festival is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13. Events on Friday include a car show, outdoor movie, food and carnival games.

Saturday's events include a 10 a.m. parade, breakfast and lunch, chicken barbecue, health fair, performers, punt, pass and kick contest for youth, a 3 p.m. auction an activities for children.
