Public Library gets spooky this month

Bluffton Public Library is getting spooky this October with two special programs for children. Tuesday, Oct. 19 is Spooky Cartoon Night beginning at 3:30 p.m. Children ages 3-10 will watch a Halloween cartoon and listen to a slightly scary ghost story. Ghostly snacks will be provided to all participants. The cartoon and story are both rated G.

Then, on Oct. 26, children ages 3-14 are invited to get dressed up in their Halloween finery for the library's Trick AND Treat program at 4:30 p.m.

Bluffton Hospital reaches $1 million capital campaign goal

Bluffton Hospital has reached its $1 million capital campaign goal to support the renovation and expansion of the emergency and surgery departments.

Isabelle West, a longtime resident of Bluffton, pledged the lead gift to the Bluffton Hospital expansion project during the leadership phase of the campaign launched in 2009. The $1 million fundraising target was met last week.

Two library book discussions set for October

Bluffton Public Library will host a discussion of Terry Ryan's book The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m.
