BLUFFTON - The Bluffton track and field team hosted a four-team meet Tuesday night at Salzman Stadium.

The Pirates competed with Delphos Jefferson, Arcadia and Allen East in an unscored meet. The Bluffton boys dominated their foes by winning most events.

CAREY - The host Carey baseball team used late-inning firepower to defeat Bluffton 13-3 in non-league play Tuesday evening.

The Pirates took the lead with a three-run rally in the top of the second inning. Freshman Cole Koenig singled in a run and junior Cayden Rayle doubled home another Pirate to give the visitors a 3-0 edge.

But Carey chipped away with two runs in the bottom of the second. In the home half of the fourth, the hosts took the lead with a five-run eruption.

ST. MARYS - Host St. Marys won all five matches in straight sets to defeat Bluffton 5-0 in boys tennis action Tuesday night.

Drew Wilson, Mack Burner and Jordan Siefer took the singles losses. Eden Nygaard and Grant Klingler fell at first doubles while Tre Bender and Bryan Zimmerman lost at second doubles.

CAREY - Host Carey defeated Bluffton 8-2 in a non-league softball game Tuesday evening.

The Blue Devils improved to 2-0 with the win while Bluffton evened its mark at 1-1 with the loss.

Carey raced to a 6-0 lead before the Pirates plated two runs in the top of the sixth.

But the hosts scored two more times in the bottom of the sixth to provide the final margin.

The Pirate baseball  team droped the opener 13-1 to McComb on Monday. Back in action Tuesday at Carey.

Lady Pirate defeat McComb 7-6 with home runs from Katie Prater and Libby Schaadt.

Bluffton boys’ tennis team defeated Bath 3-2.

Luke Denecker, Bluffton High School junior, was named Special Mention All-Ohio Division III boys' basketball.

Denecker also earned First Team All Northwest District Honors for Division III.  

Denecker led Bluffton in scoring at 18.6 points per game and made a school record 66 three pointers during the season.  The point guard had 70 assists, 32 steals and averaged 5.6 rebounds per game as well.
