Pirate boys eliminated by hot-shooting O-G at basketball districts

LIMA–The Bluffton High School boys basketball team had its season ended by top seed Ottawa-Glandorf 63-42 in the Div. III district semifinals at Lima Senior Wednesday evening, March 1.

Bluffton ended its solid season 16-9 after the defeat. Top seed O-G improved to 21-3 with the win, and advances to the district finals vs. Spencerville (21-2).

The second-seeded Bearcats defeated three seed Liberty-Benton 44-39 in the second district semifinal Wednesday night at Lima Senior.

O-G shot extremely well overall from the field and from beyond the arc with 10 three-pointers to eliminate Bluffton.

High school post season basketball on WOSN & WTLW

WOSN & WTLW will combine to air live games during OHSAA Basketball district week. Games can be viewed on WOSN (Ch 44.2, Spectrum Ch. 997) and WTLW TV44 (Ch. 44.1, Spectrum Ch. 4).

Women's golf opens spring season in Tennessee

JOELTON, Tenn.--The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its 2023 spring opener in Tennessee at the Music City Shootout on Sunday, Feb. 26. The Beavers finished 5th overall, but they were 2nd out of the five HCAC squads participation over the weekend.

Pirates Blackburn, Rehm place 2nd at wrestling sectional

VAN BUREN – Several Bluffton High School grapplers finished in the top four of their individual weight brackets at the Div. III wrestling sectionals in Van Buren Saturday, February 25.

The Pirates finished a solid fifth at the 13-team competition. Liberty-Benton won the sectional team title, followed by Elmwood and Carey.

P-GHS boys basketball ends season vs. Delphos St. John's

Playing in the OHSAA Division IV tournament, the #4 seeded Pandora-Gilboa High School boys basketball team faced off against #5 seeded Delphos St. John’s in the Van Wert Sectional Final on Friday night, February 24.

Beavers fall to #2 Transy in women's basketball semi-final

LEXINGTON, Ky.--The Bluffton University women's basketball team wrapped up its season on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, following a tough matchup with the 2nd ranked team in the nation for Division 3, the Transylvania University Pioneers. The Beavers finished with a 16-10 record. Transy stays perfect with an impressive 26-0 mark as they remain the favorites to take home the Heartland Conference trophy again this year.
