Free community meal July 30 in Pandora

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, July 30 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.

The meal this month is provided by Hilty Home. The menu will be roast beef and gravy, potatoes and carrots, cole slaw, dinner roll, strawberry shortcake and beverage.

Food boxes available for Pandora-Gilboa residents

The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District.

The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four. In order to pick up a box, you must register by calling 419-384-3038 by 5 p.m. on July 15. Boxes will be available to be picked up on Saturday July 26 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Mennonite Church located at 502 East Main St., Pandora.

Weekday Christian Education celebrates 90 years in Bluffton

One of the longest continually operating educational programs in Bluffton celebrates 90 years this summer.

Bluffton Weekday Christian Education launched in Bluffton schools in 1924 and continues today. Since its beginning, 29 persons have taught elementary youth in what is now known as “release time.” Classes take place in First Mennonite Church.

The program celebrated 90 years during a recent Bluffton farmers’ market.

Current board members of Weekday Christian Ed are Mark Yoder, Gary Bishop and Joyce Smith.

Emmanuel UCC ice cream social July 17

Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton, will hold an ice cream social from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 17 at the church.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for youth 10 and under.

Pleasant View and Mt. Cory UMC welcome new pastor on June 29

Rev. Mark Fuerstenau has accepted the pastorate of the Pleasant View and Mount Cory United Methodist Churches.

He comes from Middle Point and Kossuth United Methodist Churches. His wife, DJ, retired this summer after almost nine years serving the Zion United Methodist in the Delphos/Elida area.

Rev. Fuerstenau is a retired teacher and has worked in the corrections field since moving to the Delphos area.

Run for God Bible study, 5K training at Trinity

Bluffton Trinity UMC will be hosting a "Run For God" 12-week bible study and
5k training program.

Run For God classes are free and are open to all levels of runners/walkers. Classes will be held every Sunday at 7 a.m.. at the church, 2022 St. Rt. 103, Bluffton. Classes begin Sunday, June 22.

www.blufftontrinityumc.org. Participants do not need to pre-register and can join at any time during the 12-week session.
