Famed St. John's UCC Players present "who done it?"; SHANNON Club provides Italian dinner - March 18

The famed St. John's Players will present the suspenseful drama "Pasta, Passion and Pistols," at 4 p.m., Sunday, March 18, in Oppermann Hall at the St. John's United Church of Christ.

Members of the SHANNON Service Club will serve an Italian dinner. A free-will offering will be taken. Persons interested in tickets or reservations may contact the church office at 419-358-5641. Reservations are helpful so the chefs know how many meals to prepare.

Mid-week Lenten services continue at Trinity Lutheran

The fourth Lenten service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 14. Pastor Al Schmitzer will speak on "Glory Be to Jesus" and the choir will sing "We Will Glorify." A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m.

Rev. Carol Clements installation March 25 at St. John's United Church of Christ

Rev. Carol Clements

A service of installation for Rev. Carol A. Clements, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will be held during at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, worship service.

Rev. Daniel L. Busch, Northwest Ohio Association Minister for the United Church of Christ will preside and preach the sermon. The Association will also be represented by Rev. Catherine Costello.

Prior to the afternoon service a catered meal will take place in Oppermann Hall at noon.

Three area Mennonite churches receive grants from Everence Financial

Three area Mennonite Churches received grants from Everence Financial (formerly Mennonite Mutual Aid) in 2011 to help provide needed financial assistance to help people facing financial challenges.

First Mennonite, Bluffton, received $2,890, Grace, Pandora, received $1,750, and St. John, Pandora, received $3,000.

In 2011, the Everence Sharing Fund gave more than $924,000 in matching grants to 2,049 families across the country.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, will hold a Lenten service on Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Engdahl from Grace Lutheran Church, Kenton, will speak on "See His Cross! Surprising Words from our Savior's Passion - It's No Secret!" Special music will be by the Rausch Family, singing "Just as I Am."
