Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is in June. St. Mary's Catholic Church will host the drive, held from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, June 10.

A plant sale will be held at Buzzard Roost Nursery, operated by Tim and Chris McCarthy, 7878 Grismore Road, (corner Grismore and Pandora roads) Bluffton, on Saturday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All proceeds will go to a charity fund through The Mennonite Foundation to Our Daily Bread soup Kitchen, Lima, Faith Alive AIDS Clinic in Nigeria, and other charitable organizations.

Baccalaureate services for the Bluffton High School class of 2010 will be held on Sunday evening, May 23, at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson Street.

The service begins at 7 p.m.

In keeping with the spirit of Pentecost Sunday the theme for the evening gathering will be Following the Spirit. Four different speakers will share on what it means for them to be followers of the Spirit in their lives.

Those sharing will be Dave Fett (parent), Dave Stratton (parent), Steve Lemly (teacher) and Jenny Steinmetz (student).

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church' last Ladies' Aid meeting of the season was held on May 10.

New officers were elected. They are President-Jane Amstutz, Vice President-Nicki vonStein, Secretary-Susan Bormuth, and Treasurer-Norma Rader.

Meeting are held monthly from September to May. Ongoing projects are supporting world-wide missions and various sewing projects as well as assisting the members of the congregation.

Twelve youth were recently confirmed in their faith at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera.

Those confirmed were: Jordan Andrew Freed, John "Taylor" Heldman, Matthew Clark Inniger, Andrew Brice Lee, Courtney Erin Rettig, Kelsey Erica Rettig, Everett "Joel" Ritter, Kyle Andrew Rossman, Kenna Renee' Schmehl, Lana Doris Schmitzer, Mary Rose Spears and Brent William Warren.

The class motto was 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray Continually," the class song was "In Christ Alone," the class flower was the Tiger Lily and their colors were orange and silver.

The first of two monthly community meals sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association is at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

The May 6 meal will be catered by the Bluffton Presbyterian Church. On May 22 the meal will be catered by the Bluffton St. John's United Church of Christ.

Both dinners begin at 6 p.m. Donations are accepted and all proceeds go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program food pantry.

The dinners are open to anyone in the community.
