Tour of Bluffton churches continues March 27

The church tours of Bluffton concludes Saturday, March 27, according to the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association.

Four Bluffton congregations are part of Saturday's walking tour. Those churches are:

Want to meet new people and help others? The MMH has a spot for you

The Mennonite Memorial Home has an open invitation for persons interested in meeting new people and helping others.

A volunteer is needed in the twice monthly 'nail spa." This volunteer, according to Mary Ring, volunteer coordinator, will file and polish assisted living residents' nails.

Volunteers are also needed to transport residents in wheelchairs to the chapel for Sunday worship service. Help is needed from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for that event.

First Mennonite SHYF fundraiser March 28

First Mennonite Church senior high youth fellowship will hold a fundraiser meal following church on Sunday, March 28. Proceeds from the event will go toward the youth group's service trip to Pine Lake Fellowship Camp in Meridian, Mississippi, planned this summer

Final Lenten service Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran

The final Lenten service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, on Wednesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. Pastor Al Schmitzer will preach on "He is Your King" finishing the series of sermons on "Jesus of Nazareth is Passing By." The choir will sing "Lord Jesus, May Thy Anguish." A light supper will be served from 5:30-6:45 p.m. by Trinity's Relay for Life Team. Everyone is welcome to the supper and the service. St. John's UCC beef and noodle dinner Friday

St. John's United Church of Christ will have a beef and noodle dinner from 4:30 to 6:40 p.m., Friday, March 19, at the church. Carry-out meals are available and also free delivery if persons call the evening of the dinner at 419-358-5641. Meals are $7 for adults, $5 for high school and college students and $4 for kindergartners through sixth grade.

Cairo-Rockport United Methodist churches perform Easter cantata

The Cairo and Rockport United Methodist churches will present three performances of "Arise!" an Easter cantata, according the Rev. Richard Rakay, pastor.

Performances are at 7 p.m., Friday, March 26; 7 p.m., Saturday, March 27; and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28, at the Cairo Community Center, which is the old school gym.

"The Center is transformed into ancient Israel where we witness the birth of Jesus, several miracles, and the Easter story," said Rev. Rakay.
