May 2 Iraqi refugee photo exhibit; ping pong for peace event

IRAQI REFUGEE PHOTO EXHIBIT - PING PONG FOR PEACE

As the Iraqi war fades from front page news headlines, it's easy to forget the trauma still being experienced by two million Iraqi refugees in Syria and Jordan.

A special photo exhibit documenting their situation will be held at First Mennonite Church, in the basement Assembly Room, on Sunday, May 2, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public.

BVHS Service of Remembrance in Findlay April 25

The ninth annual BVHS Service of Remembrance will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 2330 South Main St., Findlay on Sunday, April 25 at 2 p.m.

The non-denominational memorial service will honor BVHS patients and residents who died in 2009. All are welcome to attend the service, which will be followed by a reception.

"No Strings Attached" musical April 16 at Trinity Lutheran School

The students in kindergarten through eighth grade at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, will perform "No Strings Attached," a musical about the story of Pinocchio, on Friday April 16, at 7 p.m. in the school gym. The production is open to the public.

Presbyterian youth lead April 11 worship service

The Bluffton Presbyterian Church Youth Group will lead worship on
Sunday, April 11, according to Tenna Rhonemus, youth leader.

The service will feature the skit "Don't Bother Me, Lord, I'm Praying" by M.K. Boyle. The youth will provide special music, as well as leading the different areas of the service.

Rev. Lew Vander Naaldwill, pastor, will officiate over the Communion service. Worship begins at 10:15 a.m. and all are welcome to attend.

English Lutheran resurrects an old Easter custom April 11

"You are invited to help the people of English Lutheran Church resurrect an old Easter custom begun by the Greeks in the early centuries of Christianity, sayd Rev. Kevin Mohr, pastor.

On Sunday, April 11, the congregation will celebrate its second annual "Holy Humor Sunday."

First Mennonite announces Holy Week services

Special services are announced by First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, for Holy Week, according to Steve Yoder, pastor.

A 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service will take place in Fellowship Hall. Baptismal candidates will share their faith stories. Communion will follow. An offering will be received for the Deacons' Benevolent Fund.

An Easter sunrise service is at 7 a.m. at the east end of the Buckeye Park. Persons should bring their own lawn chairs. Parking will be available in the swimming pool parking lot. Singing, scripture and drama will be part of the service.
