Bluffton congregations have several special services planned for Easter week. In addition, the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association’s Good Friday Procession of the Cross takes place.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church  announces its launch of St. Mary’s Catholic Christian Preschool, which will open in time for the 2019-20 school year. The first class is held on Sept. 4.

Katie Hohenbrink is the interim director of the preschool. The church is currently accepting applications for a head teacher and teacher’s aide positions. Contact Hohenbrink at 419-236-5372 or call St. Mary’s Church at 419-358-8631.

Three open houses are planned to introduce families to the preschool:

The Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will present its Easter cantata, “The Easter Story” on Sunday, April 14, during the  9:30 a.m. worship service, according to Rev. Duane Kemerley, pastor.

The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Kira Davis. The church is located on State Route 12  Pandora. 

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will host its Good Friday Community Procession of the Cross.

It will begin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. on Good Friday, April 19. It will be followed by the Good Friday service at noon at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

A special youth service will be held to celebrate Unity Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, on Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m.

There will be no service at 8 a.m, but Sunday School and Bible classes will begin as usual at 9:20 a.m. The youth of the church will provide the music, do the readings and explain why the church follows an order of service. 

Following the service, a potluck meal will be held in the school’s multi-purpose room.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free Community Meal on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. 

The meal this month is provided by Sprunger Insurance. The menu is spaghetti dinner, beverage, and dessert.
