CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Bluffton University volleyball team struggled to make a dent in the Thomas More armor on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, falling in straight sets to a Saints squad that improved to 11-1 on the season. Bluffton fell to 11-3 with its second straight setback after kicking off the season 11-1.

The Bluffto PTO will hold a bake sale at the elementary from 6 to 7 p.m. during the Sept. 22 open house, according to Melissa Knauss of the PTO

"The PTO committee will be selling baked goods by donation. Anyone, who wishes to donate a baked good, can drop it off at the school on Monday, during school hours, and place in the teachers' lounge, or just bring the baked good to the start of open house at 6 p.m. that evening," she said.  

Bluffton Post 382 of the American Legion will hold a  flag pole dedication for the new town hall flag pole at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27.

The Legion purchased the flag pole and donated it to the village this spring. Village employees installed it July.

Bluffton High School volleyball team is on a win streak. On Sept. 17 the Pirates defeated Paulding on the road 3-1. Game stats follow:

Bluffton won 3-1
Game 1    25-18
Game 2    27-25
Game 3    15-25
Game 4    25-20

Twenty-five Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members will display their products and services to Bluffton University students on Thursday during the chamber’s University Business Showcase.

The annual event takes place in Marbeck Center dining area while university students are at lunch.

Participating businesses have display tables in the dining area. Most of the businesses have drawings and give-a-ways, so the event is always popular among students.

The Bluffton community’s 11th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 27, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.
