The cold weather has affected the Icon . A time machine sent us back into the 1930s of downtown Bluffton.
Four "new" advertisers posted ads on The Icon today. They are:
• The Iron Lantern - restaurant, (operated by Richard Boehr's father, John)
• Patterson Barbershop (operated by Nancy Fruchey's father, Don)
• Thompson and Rupright groceries
• Mumma Electric Co.
Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will focus on "How can we improve Bluffton?" during its Friday, Jan. 17, monthly chamber breakfast. The meeting is in the third floor of the town hall.
Richland Manor is the breakfast sponsor and will provide the free breakfast with serving starting at 7 a.m. The breakfast meeting starts at 7:30 a.m.
"Once we get into the program portion of the meeting we will split into smaller groups. Each group will tackle these questions, and will eventually report back to the larger group," said Fred Steiner, chamber director.
When Crafton Beck, conductor of the Lima Symphony Orchestra, asked Dr. Lucia Unrau what piano concerto she would like to perform with the orchestra as guest artist in this winter’s “Mozart by Candlelight” concert, “I had a few in mind,” she says.
But one in particular “has been one of my favorites,” the Bluffton University professor adds, since a friend had her listen to it when they were undergraduates at the Oberlin Conservatory.
