Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) invites the public to attend its annual fall fundraiser “Come Fly With Us,” at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Bluffton Airport, according to Brendon Matthews, BCE board president.
The event offers an opportunity for BCE clients to showcase their services. One of those clients, Glideslope Aviation, LLC, owned by Rebekah Gambrell of Bluffton, is housed at the airport. Gambrell was BCE’s 2013 Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition winner.
With the Northwest Conference title on the line, Bluffton High School girls soccer team wasted little time kicking its game into gear Tuesday. Four first-half goals staked the Pirates to a big lead en route to a 6-0 victory.
Tournament The girls will start the post season on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7:15 at Steinmetz Field. Bluffton entertains Allen East, the co-NWC champs. The boys' team start its post season vs. Cory-Rawson at Riverdale on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m.
An American Red Cross blood drive takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School, Jenera.

Simply call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
Bluffton University’s mathematics department will host its 12th annual math competition for high school students on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall. All of the day’s activities are free.
The test, which begins at 9:45 a.m., includes only short-answer questions covering high school math topics through precalculus. Cash prizes will be awarded, and test scores of seniors considering attending Bluffton may be used to award renewable scholarships of up to $1,000 per year. Scholarship awards will be offered by January 2014.
