The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will hold its fall book sale Sept. 26 to Sept. 28. A special Friends’ member preview will be held 5 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. Friends’ members will enjoy complimentary refreshments, in addition to having the first opportunity to browse and buy sale items, including many children’s books.
Book sale hours for the public are Sept. 26 from 6 - 8 p.m., Sept.27 from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Sept. 28 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The sale will be held in the Richland Room on the lower level of the library.
Bluffton University is welcoming seven new faculty members in 2013-14.
Joining the faculty as assistant professors are Jeanna Haggard, in food and nutrition; Dr. Rebecca Janzen, in Spanish; Diana Kleman, in social work; and Amy Mullins, in education.
The other three new faculty are visiting assistant professors—Dr. Deanna Barthlow-Potkanowicz in social work, Mary Kay Combs in education and Dr. Roy Couch in music.

Greg L. Lugibihl, Sr., 64, of Gilboa, died at 11:45 p.m. Aug. 28, 2013 at Kindred Health Care, Lima. He was born Sept. 21, 1948, in Bluffton to Emerson and Marie Kimmel Lugibihl who preceded him in death. On Jan. 8, 1967, he married Gloria Aldridge and she survives.
He was owner and operator of Lugibihl Trucking. He was a member of the Victory in the Cross Ministries, Findlay. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas, and Findlay College.
All is safe in Bluffton. Mr. Clossen is at his familiar post ready to greet elementary students to school. (This is the first of a series of photos that we call "Bluffton icons." We call them that because that's exactly what they are.)
