The Bluffton school board will act on approving $13,376,677 in appropriations for 2013-14 during its July 17 school board meeting.
The meeting was originally set for July 15, but was moved to Wednesday night. In addition to annual appropriations the board will act on several contracts, substitute teacher contracts and additional action require prior to the start of a new school year.
One student teacher assignment will be acted upon. Abbie Richer, Bluffton University student, will student teach with Terri Steinmetz Sept. 16 to Dec. 11.

A fall sports meeting for Bluffton High School athletes and their parents will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, in the BHS gym. The announcement was made by Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.
Bluffton police report that Jeremy Ernest, 28, was recently convicted of felony domestic violence in the Allen County Common Pleas Court. The conviction stemmed from a March 13, 2013, incident in the 500 block of S. Main St., according to a news announcement from the Bluffton Police Department.
Police officers responded to an initial call for assistance by neighbors reporting what sounded like a dispute. Upon further investigation, officers determined a domestic violence incident had occurred between two occupants in an adjacent apartment.
