What are the chances of two grandparents from Bluffton both having grandsons in the 2012 Men's USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Championships in Downtown Cincinnati May 8 to 13?

Well, it happened.

Alex Yoder, grandson of Alan and Diann Yoder of Sunset Drive, Bluffton, and son of Mike and Rebecca Yoder, Indianapolis, competed there. So did Misha Kustin, grandson of Durand Dudley, 807 Red Maple Court, Bluffton. Misha's parents are Jane and Boris Kustin of Bloomfield, N.J.

Feed me! One of six blue dumpsters sits at the Spring Street recycling center now until May 29. It's spring clean up time in Bluffton

It's spring clean up time in Bluffton. The village has several dumpsters at the Spring Street recycling center available now through May 29, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

"This will provide residents with 10 days including two weekend to take items to the center," he said.

What not to dump:
Household hazardous waste materials are not permitted to be disposed of during this period.

The village maintenance department has already had to pull more than a dozen tires out of the dumpsters. These are not approved for disposal.

Get out the swim trunks. The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will be open Memorial Day weekend: Saturday through Monday- weather permitting (and it looks like it will).

It will then open for the season on Thursday, May 31. The hours are Monday through Friday: 1-5 p.m., Lap Swim 5-6 p.m., open 6-9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
