Charles Kissling 1927-2015
Charles Sherman Kissling, 88, died Dec. 20, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Charles was born Sept. 24, 1927 in McGuffey to Lacy and Ilo (Good) Kissling who preceded him in death. On Feb. 12, 1950 he married Marian Dirmeyer Kissling who survives.
Charles retired from the United Telephone Company where he was a lineman. He was a member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Lima. He was a graduate of McGuffey High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors also include five children Charles L. (Christy) Kissling of Oregon, Ohio, Susan (Steve) White of Lima, Douglas (Marvelee) Kissling of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Laura (Dan) Raushel of Conway, Arkansas, Julia (Brad) Crawford of Lima; 13 grandchildren, Matt, Kevin, Jodi, Jamie, Cason, Richard, Zachary, Alexis, Madison, Chelsea, Loren, Calen, Madelyn; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dick Kissling of Kenton, David (Jean) Kissling of Columbus; and a sister Ann Spradlin of Ruskin, Florida.
Charles was preceded in death by a brother Robert Kissling.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Les Bartley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima following the service.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
