1895 Main Street bridge

You are looking at a photo by Will Triplett taken in Bluffton in 1895. The bridge crosses the Riley on Main Street, yet the note taken by Photographer Triplett read "Bridge on Indian Trail." This confirms the story that Main Street was in fact originally a trail of Native Americans.
Other information written about this photo follows - Back of the framed photo is handwritten: Photography by Will A. Triplett approx. 1900 (reprinted by Tish Triplett 1990)
On an index cardboard is handwritten:
Notes: Second from Right - John Amstutz
County Commissioner
Mr. Saint Johns
Peter Amstutz
On a cardboard label is typed:
These city comissioners are photographed on the Indian Trail bridge,
which is now Main St. The photograph is dated 1895.
(Directly above the word city, is handwritten the word "county".)
This original print in the original frame (part of the 1990 Triplett display by Tish Triplett), was stuck to the cardboard backing board, and could not be removed without potential damage. Another print of the exact same photograph was found in the box labeled Will Triplett Test Prints.
This photo came to The Icon from Roger Triplett.
