New features at BFR in September
Several new events take place in September at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
Cardio and Core
BFR introduces a new exercise class for adults. Cardio and Core began on Monday of this week. Sophia Volpe, a personal trainer, teaches the course. The class meets Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and is free to BFR members or $20 for a four-week session for participants. The class focuses on heart rate, body tone and abdominal core.
Volpe also instructs a TRX Circuits class on Thursdays. The classes are held in the Mercy Health Fitness Studio.
Pipe gun war reminder
BFR reminds adults and youth of the Nerf pipe war games planned at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14. Bring your own Nerf darts. Action starts at 5 p.m. and continues “until it’s over.” The games takes place on a Friday evening of an “away” BHS football game. Registration is $5 per person.
Outdoor movie Sept. 22
(indoor if it rains)
BFR hosts a Bluffton Fall Festival finale at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22. An outdoor movie “Hocus Pocus” will be shown on the BFR lawn. Food trucks and glow in the dark crafts will be available for children. The movie is free and open to the public.
