Meet the BHS homecoming court

Bluffton High School celebrates its 2018 homecoming this weekend. Here are members of the court. (A photo and bio of the drivers will be posted tomorrow.)

Underclass court members
Freshmen
Skyler Scoles is the daughter of Jeremy and Stephanie Scoles. She is a member of the volleyball and track teams and is a freshman representative on student senate.  She attends Ebenezer Mennonite Church and is in its youth group.  Skyler is employed as a licensed soccer referee.

Luke Shadle is the son of Lisa and Levi Shadle. He is a member of the choir, Spanish club and plans to play tennis this spring.  He is active in his church and volunteered at “Parents’ Night Out.”

Sophomores
Julia Smallcombe is the daughter of Mary Kay and Rick Smallcombe.  She plays tennis, is on the basketball cheer squad and runs track. She is in student senate, class officers, Latin club and math club.  She is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton, Sardine's swim team in the summer and winter, and a lifeguard at the Bluffton pool in the summer.

Asher Antrim is the son of Aaron and Rachel Antrium. Asher is a member of the soccer and track teams, choir and Latin club.  Asher attends St. John Mennonite Church, and is as an Awana leader.  He also attends youth small groups and has participated in several mission trips.

Juniors
Ana Neufeld Weaver is the daughter of Paul and Laurel Neufeld Weaver. She is in show choir, orchestra, academic team, soccer team, National Honor Society and drama club.  She participates in bell choir and youth choir at First Mennonite Church, Girl Scouts, and the Lima Area Youth Orchestra.

Xavier Dunifon is son of Joel and Nikki Dunifon.  He is a member of the track team and the Spanish and art clubs.  He plays guitar for Ebenezer Mennonite Church services and is employed at The Centre in Bluffton.
 

Senior queen candidates
Hannah Yost is the daughter of Jennifer and Jason Yost.  She is active in drama club, marching band, concert band, District 3 Honors Jazz and Pep bands and the symphonic, chamber, and show choirs, and is a member of the National Honor Society.  She also is a leader for junior high Campus Life, and small groups at St. John Mennonite Church, where she is also a member of senior high youth group. Hannah works at the Bluffton Dari.  Hannah was junior class attendant. She plans to attend Cedarville University majoring in broadcasting and digital media with a focus on digital film and video.

Mara Drue Minnig is daughter of Wendy Young-Miller and Mike Minnig.  Mara is a member of the golf and softball teams, Renaissance, Latin club, drama club, choir, show choir, and the math team.  Mara also dances and volunteers at Debbie's Dancers Elite and is employed with Bluffton and Hidden Creek Golf Clubs. Mara plans to attend college and eventually enter the medical field.

Katie Prater is the daughter of Erinn and Brad Prater.  Katie is a member of the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams, and, National Honor Society, president of student senate, class vice president, and has worked in the high school office for the past four years. When her schedule allows, Katie volunteers at Challenged Champions. Katie plans to attend college and major in pharmacy.

King candidates
Seth Andreas is the son of Jan Wiebe and Jonathan Andreas.  He is member of the drama club, show choir, cross country and track teams. He is a member of First Mennonite Church and works at By Still Waters Bistro.  After graduation, Seth plans to attend Eastern Mennonite University with a double major in mathematics and computer programming, as well as a minor in Spanish. He also plans to run cross country and track in college.

DeAndre Nassar is the son of Amber Brodman.  DeAndre is a member of football, wrestling, and track teams and is also in choir.  During the winter he helps out with the elementary wrestling program. After graduation, DeAndre plans to attend college and either play football or wrestle and major in either civil engineering or criminal justice..

Chad Veit is the son of Elizabeth Sampson and Justin Veit. He is a member of the football and track teams and is a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church. He plans to join ROTC and pursue a medical career in the military.
