The art is elementary at Community Market
On your next trip for a late-night gallon of milk at Community Market, take time to check out Bluffton elementary students' holiday art work on display. Nicole Anderson is the elmentary art teacher.
You will find:
• First graders learned to draw cardinals. They made a winter scene for the bird by stamping paint with cardboard.
• Second graders studied Vincent Van Gogh. His work inspired student versions of snowy, starry landscapes.
• Third graders designed textured trees. They invented texture by drawing patterns and used real texture in their artwork.
• Fourth graders drew and painted symmetrical nutcrackers. The tradition of the nutcracker began in Germany and is a symbol of protection and good luck.
• Fifth graders designed "stained glass" rose windows. These windows are circular and inspired by the Gothic architectural style.
