NWC honors awarded to BHS athletes in track, softball and baseball

Bogart, Busch among honorees

NWC hurdles champ wins league top honor

Bluffton's Ethan Bogart was named Northwest Conference Track Athlete of the Year in recent voting by the league coaches.

Bogart won the 110 high hurdles (15.86) and 300 hurdles (39.96) at the NWC championship meet in Convoy last weekend. He also finished second in the NWC 200-meter dash.

 

Lady Pirate Busch 1st team All-NWC

Bluffton senior shortstop Riley Busch was voted first team All-Northwest Conference in the league meeting by the coaches at Delphos Monday evening.

Lady Pirate senior catcher Sophie Bricker and junior pitcher Hannah Davis were named second team All-NWC.

Davis won all 10 games the Lady Pirates were victorious in with a 2.87 ERA.

Pirate senior Lauren Swartzlander, and sophomores Ashley Fleece and Lauren Bassett each earned honorable mention all-league notice.

Columbus Grove's Kam Utendorf was named NWC Player of the Year.

Lincolnview mentor Eric Schwab was named NWC Coach of the Year.

Bluffton finished a solid third in the NWC at 5-3 (tied with Leipsic), and ended up 10-9 overall.

Lincolnview and Crestview tied for the NWC title at 7-1. 

Three Pirates named to All-NWC baseball

Three Pirate boys were voted honorable mention All-Northwest Conference baseball in the league meeting by the coaches at Delphos Monday evening.

Junior Jaden Coonfare and sophomores Braeden Jordan and Garret Bogart received HM all-NWC honors.

Bluffton finished 1-7 in the NWC and 3-18 overall.

Landon Price of Lincolnview was named NWC Player of the Year. His coach Eric Fishpaw was voted NWC Coach of the Year.

Lincolnview repeated as NWC champs at 8-0, followed by Crestview and Leipsic tied for second at 6-2. Spencerville ended up 5-3, while Columbus Grove and Delphos Jefferson tied for fifth at 4-4.
