Freed Center for the Performing Arts launches ticket sales for 2011-12 season

The Freed Center for the Performing Arts announces its 21st season. The 2011-2012 season once again provides "something for everyone."

Located on the Ohio Northern University campus, Ada, the Freed Center offers a wide variety of arts and entertainment throughout the year. Headliners in many different genres are always a highlight.

Headliners
This year's headliners include the comedy team of Colin and Brad: Two Man Group (from Whose Line Is It Anyway?), The Righteous Brothers' Bill Medley, Alex DePue's World Music Duo, The Spencers: Theatre of Illusion, the Toledo Symphony, and Miller (from America's Got Talent).

Children's Series
The Children's Series continues to grow more popular each year. It kicks our season off with Docktor Kaboom! and follows with ImaginOcean and The Magic School Bus-Live!

With an ever-growing dance minor program at ONU, two of the top dance companies will be in the house-Amy Marshall Dance Company and Rennie Harris Puremovement. ONU's theatre and musical theatre productions rate right up there with the professionals.

Also on the schedule
This year The Freed Center offers 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl, the annual ONU Holiday Spectacular, a concert presentation of Miss Saigon, the Student-Directed One Acts, and ending the season with Thoroughly Modern Millie.

ONU music department performances
The ONU Music department continues to bring beautiful music to the Freed Center from the ONU Marching Band, Wind Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the ONU Symphony Orchestra.

Season tickets are now on sale. Summer box office hours are 1-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 419-772-1900. Tickets for individual events will go on sale Aug. 1 by calling the box office or by visiting www.freedcenter.com.
