Bill King 1937-2011
William P. "Bill" King, 74, died at 2:02 p.m. July 31, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on April 26, 1937, in Lafayette, to Ben P. and Susan E. Baber King, who preceded him in death. On June 17, 1956, he married Jo Ann Nichols, who survives in Bluffton.
Mr. King was a 1955 graduate of Auglaize Local High School in Harrod. He then began working for Churchill Construction, where he was plant foreman. He was also a Bath Township firefighter and constable. His memberships included the Eagles, Aerie 370, Lima, and a lifemember of the NRA. He was also a member of the Harrod United Methodist Church, and South Milford United Methodist Church in Indiana.
Survivors include three children: Anthony Wayne and Barbara J. King, of Hudson, Ind., Terri Graham, of Lima, and Alan P. and Amy R. King, of Bluffton; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David R. and Sharon King.
Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Chiles - Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel.
Pastors Roger Emerson and Greg King officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrod United Methodist Church. Condolences may be expressed at chiles-lamanfh.com.
