Bluffton received a presidential visit on Tuesday.

Honest Abe Lincoln visited residents of Maple Crest Senior Living Village earlier this week. With Mrs. Lincoln at his side, President Lincoln told about his early life and years as president.

His visit was one day after Presidents' Day and very close to his own birthday. When not playing the role of President Lincoln and the first lady, the couple is known as Roger and Judy Jenot from Carey.

This is the second visit to Bluffton by the Lincolns. Last year they visited with patrons of the Bluffton Public Library.

There's a rust belt in Bluffton. It's mostly on streets with water mains that were installed between 1920 (or earlier) and the late 1940s. There are lots of street in the category. They are familiar sounding: Grove, Lawn, Kibler, Jackson, Cherry, Mound and Washington.

In addition, there are some newer lines in need of replacement. Those include Sunset Drive and Garmatter Street.

Bluffton's mulch of 2012 is on the way. The Spring Street recyling center is living up to its name this month as brush from last year is turning magically into mulch.

Here are some views of the transformation of brush into the stuff that some residents can't seem to get enough of.

The prospect of needing long-term care is an important, yet sometimes overlooked, part of financial and retirement planning. Yet it may be especially vital for women to consider as they often face the need for long-term care as both a caregiver and recipient.
