Dave York Sports, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., was awarded a bid of $64,550 for installing new bleachers at Harmon Field. The bid was accepted on Monday by the Bluffton school board.
In other signification action involving funds, the Bluffton board awarded its 2011-12 school district insurance plan to Fawcett, Lammon, Recker and Associates. The contract totals $38,123 and covers fleet, property and liability insurance for the district effective July 1 through June 30, 2012.
Seven Bluffton University baseball players were honored by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches for their play on the field this spring. Junior Nick Broyles (Toledo/Whitmer) and sophomore Kyle Niermann (Napoleon) both earned first team acclaim while freshman catcher Tim Webb (Delaware/Worthington Christian) was selected to the second team. Juniors Ryan Leugers (Botkins), Kyle Trainer (Mechanicsburg), Tyler Stephenson (Springfield/Northwestern) and freshman Airic Steagall (Hillsboro) all took home honorable mention All-HCAC recognition following the 2011 season.
Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host its fourth annual Continuing Education Extravaganza Friday, June 3 in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the event will adjourn at 2:45 p.m.
The continuing education event is for all health care workers, and 4.25 Ohio Board of Nursing continuing education credits will be awarded for nurses.
Random thoughts, my usual fall-back blog topic, seems too, well, random. Musings sound so much more meditative, more thoughtful. Since I've been on a short four-day weekend "vacation", my time to muse meditatively has been productive.

The Scouts from Bluffton Troop 256 had a busy weekend. Part of the Troop headed north to Oak Harbor to attend a two-day Atomic Energy Camporee at the Davis Bessie Nuclear Power Plant, near Lake Erie.
Another group of Scouts from the Troop, along with their family members helped carry and sort food at the Bluffton Food Pantry on Saturday.
The Bluffton Troop 256 had 14 Scouts, three leaders, and one Scout parent attend the Camporee, which had over 180 attendee's, from 15 different Scout Troops from across Ohio and Michigan.

As of May 16, Citizens National Bank is participating in this network. As part of a processing conversion, CNB customers may no longer use Fifth-Third ATMs free of charge. In order to allow its customers continued access to a variety of surcharge-free ATMs, Citizens joined MoneyPass.
The Bluffton Police Department will join local and national law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates all across the country for the 2011 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization May 23-June 5.
During the mobilization, officers will be cracking down on motorists who fail to wear their seat belts - both day and night.
