A reading by poet and author Robert Rhodes, scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bluffton University, has been postponed due to weather forcing cancellation of his travel plans.

The community garage sale Friday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 26, offers something for everyone, according to members of the SHANNON Service Club, sponsoring the event.

"Of special interest to many is coin dealer Leonard Wilson, who will appraise your coins and buy them on the spot, so bring your old and unusual coins, gold, and silver," said Duane Bollenbacher.

Bluffton University alumnae can enjoy a day out of the ordinary on Saturday, March 5, when the university's Women's Council hosts the second annual Women R&R (Reconnecting and Reaching Out).

The day of relaxation and reminiscing with college friends includes entertainment, as well as reaching out to current female Bluffton students. Last year's attendees donated $700 to support the Women's Council Professional Enrichment Grant for Women, which helps female students gain professional experience in an anticipated career.

Income tax forms, bills and other financial documents can build up quickly. How can one know what to keep and what to throw away?

Bluffton Public Library will host a financial paperwork seminar presented by Julie Bankert, of J. Bankert Bookkeeping, on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The seminar will share tips and tricks to help individuals organize their financial paperwork.

Two community meals are planned in MARCH by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association. The first is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 3, hosted by St. Mary's Catholic Church. The second is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 17, hosted by Trinity Methodist. The meals are open to the public with no admission charge. Donations accepted go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food bank.

Bluffton Senior Center's will hold a craft supply sale, Friday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Tonya Meyer, director.

The sale includes Sewing notions, candle supplies, yarn, wood, material, doll making, buttons, beads, ribbon and much more. The Center is located at 132 N. Main St., Bluffton, phone 419-358-8971.

"Members of the Bluffton Senior Center may have spent a lot of time snowbound this winter, but that just gave them more time to make beautiful hand crafted items for the Senior Center Store," according to Tonya Meyer, director.

She said that the Senior Center has carried American Girl doll clothes and now also have Bitty Baby doll clothes and Barbie doll cloths as well as doll clothes of all sizes.

"Bring your doll in and we will help you find something that fits," she said.

Evelyn F. Everett, 82 of Bluffton died at 12:10 p.m. Feb. 20, 2011, at Hilty Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born Nov. 7, 1928 in Mt. Cory, Ohio to Harry and Erma (Kroske) Steinman. On Feb. 2, 1948 she married Lyle Everett and he died March 22, 1999.

Mrs. Everett had worked at the Glove Factory in Bluffton and was also a Lima News carrier agent for over 30 years. She was a Mt. Cory High School graduate.
