Save the date: Declaration of Independence reading, July 8
Nationwide simultaneous reading includes Bluffton event
MEDIA RELEASE__Bluffton's America 250 coordinators and the Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will host a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the 1899 Depot at Buckeye Park, 405 N. Spring St.
On July 4, 17776, the Second Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence inside the Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia. Four days later, on July 8, 1776, after the Declaration was printed and distributed on the State House steps, Colonel John Nixon publicly read the Declaration of Independence.
