Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Note: The Icon printed this letter exactly as it was received.
Dear Icon:
A question in our Latin class (long ago!) was, "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?", or, if I have it right, "Who guards the guardians themselves?". The media have freedom of the press, but the constitutional guarantee is supposed to be for all citizens, not just a special class. How can we be protected from editors who distort things themselves?

Jan Shields

"It's a small world!" That well-known sentiment was proven true, once again, as Maple Crest, Bluffton, residents gathered for an organ hymn sing with Janice Shields.

Shields had barely been introduced when she realized that one of the residents had been her neighbor and school mate when they were children in Columbus Grove.
She stated her maiden name, Bryan, and immediately Jack McCullough remembered her, and jumped into a lively conversation with her, teasing her with the comment "You got older!"
