January 2013

Public all-session ticket sales for the 2013 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Individual Wrestling Tournament begin Tuesday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m., and plenty of tickets are expected to be available.

The state tournament is February 28 and March 1 and 2 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus. The cost for an all-session ticket book (five sessions) is $75 each for the Entry and Club Levels and $55 each for the Terrace Level.

Widespread flu activity is being reported across much of the country and the American Red Cross urges people who have not yet gotten a flu vaccine to get vaccinated now.

The Red Cross also has steps people can take to prevent the spread of the flu virus during what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says is the worst influenza outbreak in several years in the United States.

Tickets are still available for the next performance in the 2012-13 Bluffton University Artist Series, by German-born classical pianist Alexander Schimpf at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Schimpf has risen to international prominence in the last four years by winning several prestigious competitions. At the 2011 Cleveland International Piano Competition, his final-round performance, accompanied by the Cleveland Orchestra, inspired a standing ovation as well as the Audience Favorite Prize.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce 2013 membership window stickers will be distributed at Friday's chamber breakfast. Members not attending the breakfast will have their stickers mailed to them.

This year's sticker follows a five-year tradition of changing the background color. These replace the familiar orange stickers of 2012.
