Bluffton to host Intercollegiate Peace Fellowship conference

“Spirituality & Shalom: Living at the Intersection of Faith & Justice,” the 2013 Intercollegiate Peace Fellowship conference, will be held Feb. 8-10 at Bluffton University.

Spirituality’s role in peacebuilding—and peacebuilding’s role in individuals’ spiritual lives—is the focus of the conference, an annual gathering of representatives of Mennonite colleges and universities but open to the public as well.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Sam Hamilton-Poore. He is an assistant professor and director of the Christian spirituality program at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and author of the book “Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation.”

The conference will also feature workshops; a Saturday night, Feb. 9, performance by the Bluffton-based band Anabaptist Bestiary Project; and a worship service on Sunday morning, Feb. 10, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Registration is requested at www.bluffton.edu/icpf/; cost is $35 through Jan. 25, $45 thereafter or $25 for Saturday only.
