Bluffton Hospital, BVH echo labs receive accreditation
The Echocardiography Laboratories at Bluffton Hospital and Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) have been reaccredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
The Bluffton and BVH echo labs perform echocardiograms, a non-invasive test that detects and manages heart disease.
This accreditation recognizes labs that provide a high level of patient care and quality testing when diagnosing heart disease. To receive the accreditation, Bluffton and BVH underwent a comprehensive application process and a detailed review of echocardiography operations.
First accredited in 2005, Bluffton and BVH received reaccreditations in 2008, 2011 and 2014. The accreditation is valid for three years.
Patients can rely on ICAEL accreditation as a “seal of approval” that the facility has been carefully critiqued by medical experts. The ICAEL is a non-profit organization that encourages labs to conduct quality echocardiographic diagnostic evaluations.
