Top tier of Midwest regional colleges
Bluffton University has once again been named to the top tier of Midwest “regional colleges” by the “U.S. News & World Report” rankings released today.
The 2019 edition of the magazine’s “Best Colleges” guidebook ranks Bluffton 30 among 79 comparable institutions in 12 Midwest states. Now listed in the “U.S. News” rankings for 21 consecutive years, Bluffton has consistently ranked in the top tier of Midwest colleges.
“At Bluffton, our students grow through life-shaping courses, internships and cross-cultural experiences. We know that big challenges, such as earning a college diploma, lead to even bigger payoffs. That’s why we pair rigorous academics with supportive faculty who are invested in student success,” said Erin Ostling Burkholder, director of admissions. “We are honored to be recognized for our unique and purposeful approach to a liberal arts education.”
Regional colleges are defined as institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a broad range of liberal arts programs. Through its 85 majors, minors and interdisciplinary programs, Bluffton University combines a focus on career-ready skills while maintaining a strong commitment to the liberal arts. With four nationally accredited programs—dietetics, education, music and social work—students also learn through hands-on opportunities on campus including “Bridge: The Bluffton University Literary Journal” and “The Wit,” a student-driven media organization.
These opportunities produce successful graduates. Ninety-nine percent of Bluffton alumni are employed or in graduate school or long-term service within six months of graduation.
