Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) June "Ask the Expert," program is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St., according to Daren Lee of MHCO.

The program provides adults 55 and over in the greater Bluffton area an opportunity to speak directly to an MHCO nurse and social worker present at each session.

Mennonite Memorial Home held its annual Women's Celebration with two programs on May 21 and May 22.

The first featured a catered meal by Special Occasions and a guest speaker, Anne Stratton. Her presentation was "Toys of the Past."

The second program featured Ron Friesen, an MHCO duplex resident, as the guest speaker. Friesen brought some of his vintage toy collection and spoke on various items.

The area Multiple Sclerosis group Friends Helping Friends will meet Wednesday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the third floor conference room at the Bluffton town hall. An elevator is available.

The guest speaker is Ruth Everett, massage therapist, who will show and discuss relaxation techniques.

For those who missed the May meeting, we were shown how to plant both flowers and vegetables in containers that could be at a height for those who cannot plant things in the ground.

ArtSpace/Lima will mount the special exhibit, Hand-Pulled: Ohio Printmakers opening on Saturday, June 16, 2012, with a public reception for the artists and their friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Ellen Nelson Gallery.

Hand-Pulled: Ohio Printmakers entries were solicited from any Ohio artist working in traditional print-making media. The show, which includes 32 works by 18 printmakers, will feature a wide variety of print media, including intaglio, wood, linoleum, and plastic reliefs, lithographs, silk-screen prints, collographs, and monoprints.

Taste of Summer

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce invites its members and the public to the first of three "Tastes of Summer" downtown events. The first is Thursday evening from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on the patio of Luke's.
