Norman J. Bassitt

Norma J. Bassitt, 77, of Bluffton died at 2:40 p.m., Oct. 22, 2011 at Richland Manor, Bluffton, She was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Lima to Kenneth James and Lillian Dysert Harbert. She was married to Loren Bassitt who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bassitt retired from Richland Manor, Bluffton where she was a nurse's aid.

It's not quite Halloween, but the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Blaze of Lights committee is hard at work planning this year's 25th annual event.

The committee extends two special invitations: one for parade entries and another for Blaze sponsors.

Anniversary celebration

30 years on Main were celebrated today by Webb Insurance Agency, Reichenbach & Steiner CPAs and Samuel W. Diller Co. Also known as 138 Associates Professional Building. The three firms opened in 1981.

The Bluffton Public Library is featuring more than 50 gift baskets in its Holiday Gift Silent Auction. Bidding begins Nov. 4 during the library's Murder in the Stacks event and will continue until an item is purchased at the "buy it now" price (indicated on select bid sheets) or when the silent auction ends at 2 p.m. on Nov. 19.

Art Exhibit: by seniors Mollie Landry and Kati Skon, through December 16 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weedays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A reception for the artists will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, December 4, in the gallery.
