Whizzes at math
Several Bluffton sixth and seventh graders earned high scores on the semi-annual Noetric Learning Math Contest that took place in the fall, according to Dina Tadena, middle school math instructor.
From Bluffton John-Paul Yoder, was the seventh grade winner. He also was named to the National Honor Roll awarded to the top 10 percent of participates taking the test. More than 24,000 students from 561 schools across the U.S. participated.
Bluffton sixth grade contest co-winners were June Essinger and Sophia Kauffman.
Several addition Bluffton seventh graders received honorable mention, which was awarded to the top 50 percent of participants taking the test.
Noetic Learning Math Contest is a national mathematics contest for elementary and middle school students. The goal of the competition is to encourage students' interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills, and to inspire them to excel in math.
