On Monday three concerts take place. Here’s the schedule:
• 1:30 p.m. – Elementary Christmas concert
This concert features Kindergarteners through fifth graders. Selections will be by each grade and will also include a mass choir of all elementary singers. This concert is in the high school gymnasium.
Bluffton council taking a cue from the federal government and, rather than passing a 2018 appropriations, will act on Monday for legislation covering three months of 2018.
Council held a special meeting on Dec. 4 for the purpose of finalizing the 2018 appropriations. The special meeting started at 7 p.m. Council entered executive session at 8:45 p.m. to discuss personnel wages. Roger Warren moved and Ralph Miller seconded the motion.
At 9:15 p.m., council exited the closed-door session and returned to regular session.
HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University women’s basketball crew hit the road for the second contest of a four-game swing to match up against the Hanover College Panthers who were fresh off a Wednesday night victory over HCAC pre-season favorite Transylvania. A strong second quarter was key as the Beavers would march on to an 83-65 win against the Panthers, improving to 5-1 (2-0 HCAC) on the season.
HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University men’s basketball team tipped off against Hanover for their first contest of a three-game road trip. The Beavers fought hard and were able to hang in the game against the Panthers, but the home team held on, 59-54, as Bluffton dropped to 2-5 (1-2 HCAC) on the season.
Pandora native Dr. Cheri Diller, M.D., general practitioner, has joined Bluffton Primary Care and is the newest physician in the community.
Bluffton Primary Care is located at 161 Garau St., in the former offices of Dr. Woodruff.
She joins Dr. Leah Eiden, M.D., who also has a practice in the building. Bluffton Primary Care, part of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, opened earlier this fall after a building renovation and held its official ribbon cutting on Dec. 4.
In opening her family practice, Dr. Diller is accepting new patients.

Bluffton sixth grader Caitlyn Couch won this year’s Middle School spelling bee and will represent the school in the Feb. 24 Allen County spelling bee and also the March 17 regional spelling bee.
Seventh grader, Hannah Davis, runner-up, is Bluffton’s spelling bee alternate.
This year’s bee, held Friday morning, went four rounds until Caitlyn and Hannah were the lone contestants standing.
