Although I know the answer to this question, what year did you graduate from Bluffton High School, Alan?

1968.

You worked in Bluffton for several years. Tell us about that?

I worked with my dad, Wayne Amstutz in the insurance business for 10 years and owned the Brass Buckle for two years.

When did you move to Dublin?

I began working in Columbus in April 1985 and the family moved in August 1985. At that time Dublin was a little larger than Bluffton.

The board meets four times a year and hears updates from the administrator and staff members. The board also provides feedback to the administrator and staff from the community that Richland Manor serves.

The most recent meeting of the board was earlier this month.

Where were you born?

I was born in San Antonio, Texas and lived there and in Corpus Christie for a while. I moved to Ohio when I started Kindergarten. My family is originally from Putnam County.

How long have you lived in Bluffton? Who was the first person you met in Bluffton?

There is an immediate need for volunteers to serve the Bluffton community. The Mennonite Memorial Home provides Mobile Meals to Bluffton residents and the meals are delivered by volunteers.

"We recently had several volunteers resign and are in need of new drivers. A drivers are needed for the second Tuesday of each month, the third Tuesday of each month and for a fill-in driver when ever needed," said Mary Ann Ring, MMH volunteer coordinator.

This week’s four Bluffton third graders are Tony Mathewson (Mrs. Bogart’s class), Ella Cunningham (Mrs. Kingsley), Madison Sampson (Mr. Armstrong), and Anna Davies (Mrs. Raeburn).

During our introductions, Anna informed me that both her grandmothers are named Nancy.

When Andy Lamb took Spanish classes for three years at Bluffton High School he had no idea that it would come in so handy later on in life.

Now it has. Lamb, a 2007 BHS grad, left Bluffton last week for a 27-month volunteer assignment in the Peace Corp in Dominican Republic.

“I’m assigned as a community economic advisor for small businesses and entrepreneurs,” he told The Icon, about his Peace Corp position. "I'll work with entrepreneurs in the rural and city areas of the country."
