St. John's United Church of Christ has several activities taking place in October. The church newsletter "Seredipity" is now available for Icon viewers.

October's free community meals are set at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and Bluffton Area Ministerial Association.

First United Methodist Church is host to the Thursday, Oct. 3 meal. English Lutheran Church is host to the Thursday, Oct. 17 meal. The meals, open to the public, are free. An monetary donation given goes to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry.

Meals are served at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton

PrimeTimers will meet at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988, Road 4, Pandora.

Chuck Sommers, saxophone player will perform a blend of Christian and Big Band music.

A meal will be provided including meat loaf, white chicken chili, roasted red potatoes, green beans and peach crisp. Donations toward the cost of the meal are accepted.

PrimeTimers, a non-denominational monthly fellowship event sponsored by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio and hosted by St. John Mennonite, is for area persons 55 and up.  

A celebration of the South Asia ministry of David and Carrie Hartman is hosted at The Centre At Bluffton, 601 N. Main St., from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, by English Lutheran Church. Carrie is the daughter of Bob and Sue Fett of Bluffton and English Lutheran is her home church.

The community is invited to participate in this event, which will provide an opportunity to learn more about the lives of families in South Asia, as well as to support the ministry of the Hartmans as they seek to "build bridges of peace" in the midst of those families. 

Campus Life Youth for Christ announces its 2013-14 middle school calendar, according to Hannah Slechter, middle school director.

Tuesdays after school to 4 p.m.
Location: Pandora Missionary Church
Starts Tuesday, Sept. 17, for 5th and 6th graders

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, September 25,  from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.

The meal this month is provided by the Rebecca Circle and will be Ham, potatoes, green beans,dessert and beverage.
