Two community meals are planned in September at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, under the direction of the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association. 

Meal dates:

• Thursday, Sept. 5, served by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio
• Thursday, Sept 19, served by St. John's United Church of Christ.

Meals are free and open to the public and begin at 6 p.m. All monetary donations go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry.

St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton, changes from summer hours to fall hours on Sunday, Sept. 8, according to Rev. Carol Clements, pastor.

The new Sunday hours follow:
• Sunday school, 9:30 a.m.
• Worship, 10:30 a.m.

PrimeTimers, who are persons 55 and older, will meet at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 3, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora.

Following the meal, Jim Boedicker will provide musical entertainment featuring his guitar and vocal skills. 

A full meal will be provided including barbecue pork or shredded chicken sandwich, hash brown casserole, glazed carrots and homemade angel food cake. Donations toward the cost of the meal are accepted. 

The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday, August 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.

The meal this month is provided by the Mission Committee and will be shredded chicken sandwich, chips, relishes, dessert and beverage.

Galen Burkholder, International Director and founder of Global Disciples, will speak at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora, on Wednesday, Aug. 21, on the topic "Hope in the Hard Places." 

There will be dinner and program at 6 p.m. Global Disciples trains church planters and pastors with an innovative model that empowers indigenous churches to use "what is in their hands."  

Then these trained believers can access hard-to-reach communities through small business while preaching the Gospel and planting churches.

Registrations  for 2013-14 are being taken for Preschool students at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera. 

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September through May from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
